Time for the Big Transition...

Dearest blog readers,

Just wanted to let you know Cheryl Weaver Photography will officially be unplugged tomorrow, June 13th, and will stay that way for several days while our family makes the final transition in our move back to central Arkansas.  I will check and return emails once we get settled (and I get internet service) in our new home.

I will begin booking sessions in Arkansas mid-July and already have a trip planned back to Cincinnati for October 2nd through the 12th.  It will be a packed trip, and I only have two slots left, so if you are interested, please contact me and I will let you know the details.  There are also trips in the works for Georgia, California and Tennessee as well as another trip to Ohio.  Stay tuned for details to come.

If you live in a state not mentioned above, and are interested in a custom portrait session with me, give me a shout.  I LOVE to travel and have some ways we can work together to make it happen.

peace.

Celebrating Miracles...

One year ago tonight, I sat in a Knoxville, TN hospital waiting room, praying some of the most fervent prayers I have ever uttered in my entire life.  The boyfriend of a dear friend of mine was literally clinging to life by a thread after a motorcycle accident the medical experts couldn't even believe he had survived.  What transpired over the next several days, weeks and months was NOTHING short of a miracle.  Yesterday, hundreds of friends and family watched as this man danced with his bride as he celebrated their new life together as husband and wife.  It was both an honor and a privilege to be able to photograph this special day for Dave and Kendahl.  I love you both and I am so thankful for the way God has shown his amazing power through your story!

Sneak Peak of Today's session...

I always find it exciting when a client finds me by searching the internet for photographers.  I always welcome confirmation that reminds me that my hard work is paying off.

This little one was personality plus and such a joy to hang out with today!  I enjoyed capturing her special bond with mom, dad and grandmother.  (I even found myself getting a bit emotional at the sweet moments I was privileged to witness.)  I will be in touch very soon M, with the password to your private on line gallery!

Blessings!

In true Cheryl Weaver Photography fashion...

Anyone who knows me well, or has followed my journey as a professional photographer, knows how much of my heart goes in to each one of my family sessions.  I have a passion for families to have images that will serve as a reminder of the love and connection between the members of their family for years to come.  I'm feeling a bit more sentimental than usual today, because I have spent a lot of time in the last few days going through boxes of momentos and photographs in preparation for our move back to Arkansas.  I've been reminded of how important each photo of my parents, my siblings, and my husband and children have become as the years have gone by and my memories have started to fade.  I am so thankful I have always kept a camera handy to document the daily moments of my children's lives,  I regret, however not ever hiring a professional photographer to take artistic images of me WITH my children.  These are the types of images I wish I had, so I feel a sense of fulfillment as a photographer when I capture them for someone else.  I loved my time with this sweet mother and her kids last night!  I can't wait to share the rest of the session with you, E!  I'll be in touch soon!

How is this possible???

Seriously.  I know people say it all the time but it is sooooo TRUE!  Time does fly by!!!  It was just yesterday when my daughter was dressing up like a princess and having little tea parties...and tonight she is at her first high school prom!  We have had so much fun over the last several weeks shopping for dresses and preparing for tonight.  She is maturing into such an amazing young woman and sometimes I am just in awe at how special and talented she is, and how much joy she brings to so many people.  I love her artistic flair and her ability to truly dance to the beat of different drummer...happily.  (High top chucks and all...)

A Big Weekend...

This past weekend was another big weekend at The Underground.  Friday night, Stellar Kart was live in concert with Me In MotionNevertheless, and Bazookas Go Bang...and WOW!  What a show!  I've covered a lot of shows at the TheUg over the last several months and have never seen so many jumps and flips on stage in one night!  There was so much energy and the crowd was really alive!  And, as if Friday night didn't have enough excitement for one weekend, Saturday night launched a sneak peek of what's to come at The Underground, with an all new experience called The Lab!  With inflatables, door prizes, and live music from Divine Day,  Elevntyseven anThe Never Setting Suns, awareness was raised for Children of Zion Village in southern Africa and a great time was had by all.  My assignment for Saturday night was to cover the fabulous ZAMA film students who helped to make the night possible.

...And don't forget to mark your calendars for TUESDAY, MAY 19thJars of Clay and Seabird are coming to The Underground!  The event will also be broadcast LIVE via The Lab for those of yowho are unable to attend or who are not local to Cincinnati.  Check it out!!!

And without further delay...here are some of my favorites from the weekend:

The Ultimate Compliment...

I know I've said this before, but it is true.  The best compliment a client can ever give, is to schedule another photo session.  I photographed this cutie three months ago for his six month portraits , and was asked back to document him at nine months.  He really is changing so quickly, like they all do, which is why I am so passionate about what I do!  It is so important to make sure you have your children's lives documented.  Not only are the images from your session a blessing to you, they will also become treasures your children will be proud to have. (especially the ones of them with you!)

Music + Photography = MUCH happiness!!!

Obviously, I love photography.  I also LOVE music.  So, when I get to listen to AWESOME live music while capturing the visual experience with my camera, I would have to say it goes down in my book as one of the best ways to spend an evening!

Last night PillarFireflight  and Me in Motion  ended their Confessions Tour with us at The Underground and seriously rocked the house!!!  A long time fan of both, it was my first time to hear both Pillar and Fireflight Live, and I was NOT disappointed!  I was also introduced to Me in Motion for the first time and look forward to hearing them again soon when they return to The UG with Stellar Kart!

The Underground has a great line-up of shows and events coming up!  Go check it out and mark your calendars!

One Week New...

I am completely smitten by newborns, and this sweet little princess was no exception.  Mom was given a gift certificate for a session with me during her pregnancy.  I really believe the best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 7 days, so I made sure I was following mom's progress and got notification last week of little miss "M"s entrance into the world.  As soon as mom and baby were home, we scheduled our session for this morning.  She was such a great little model for me, and mom and dad, you guys are GREAT parents!  I hope you both enjoy your sneak peek.  I'll let you know when your gallery is up!

A very special family...

I met "A" on my recent trip to Monterrey, Mexico with Back 2 Back.  Although we've only known each other a short time, I feel so blessed to have the privilege to call her my friend.  I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her family before they embark on their summer adventure.  Her husband is the Director of missions for Back2Back and they are planning on spending this summer in Nigeria.

I had so much fun hanging out with them this afternoon.  Their sons are not only super handsome, but extremely polite and funny as well!  They were such good sports and quite the little models!  Because winter always has such a hard time giving it over to spring here in Cincinnati, we didn't even venture outside for this session!

I hope you guys enjoy this sneak peek as much as I do!  I am looking forward to sharing all of your session images with you soon!  (I hope this will tide you over!)
